New Year wellness workshops were the order of the day/month in January, with Emma Garland hosting two sell-out yoga sessions and Lindsay Rocke making her Walled Garden School debut with a session focused on New Year clarity; this workshop wasn’t just about setting goals for the year ahead - it was about connecting with others, gaining practical tools, and leaving with a sense of clarity, empowerment, and purpose.

Here’s a whistle-stop rundown of the three exceptional workshops we hosted on Hawarden Estate in January 2025…


17th January - Reset and Rebalance with Emma Garland

At this sold out session we began the New Year by reconnecting with our bodies alongside a true expert at this warm and friendly day for seasoned yogis and beginners completely new to yoga. This was a day of knowledge and learning; a restful, restorative day allowing guests to reconnect with themselves and with nature.

As our guide, Emma Garland put it:

“Our body speaks to us all the time, but with busy lives we don’t always listen. We’re not always in tune or even in sync with our bodies. Stress and worries of the mind show up in the body, too. And certain times of the year don’t always help either.

Whether we hold tension in our muscles, like our back, shoulders and hips; or it shows up in our work or daily tasks with an inability to focus on the task in hand; we need the tools to learn new habits or even unlearn old, bad habits.”

Reset your nervous system to manage stress more effectively:

“We’ll be looking to rest and rebalance our nervous systems, both our parasympathetic nervous system (the chilled one) and the sympathetic nervous system (the action one).

When we can find this balance, we can increase our heart rate variability (HRV) (AKA our heart health) and decrease our resting heart rate (RHR).

Balancing these two will improve your overall health, increase our longevity and result in a balanced, and better, nervous system.”


18th January - New Year Clarity Workshop with Lindsay Rocke

How to live a purposeful, fulfilling and happier life: an empowering workshop to spark motivation and action!

As the new year begins, it’s natural to feel some resistance when looking ahead, particularly if the previous year was challenging.

This workshop was designed to help guests reset and refocus in a supportive, uplifting environment. With the power of a group, we inspired one another to approach 2025 with renewed clarity and motivation.

At this small group coaching session, like-minded women came together to share, support, and plan their year ahead.


24th January - Yoga and Sauna with Emma Garland

Connecting back to our bodies with yoga and sauna.

Guests joined us in our new indoor space, The Conservatory, for a good yoga stretch and strengthen flow to get the body moving. In this 90 minute yoga flow, we were guided to breathe through some expansive postures to help us feel thoroughly stretched and energised.

After the yoga session, we took our time to reflect in the beautiful outdoor space within The Walled Garden with a hot tea or coffee. Guests then had the opportunity to take a 15 minute sauna session, usually in a group of 4 people at a time. It was a great way to start a Friday morning!

Following the session we wandered down to the award-winning Hawarden Estate Farm Shop for brunch.
